"While writing the story of a young man from a family of Methuselahs-undertakers that make coffins for living but who yearns to leave that gloomy business (death) and find some better, nicer and more attractive place in the world, little could I have known then – in the early 1970s – that this story of mine would be adapted from theatre into film, and then into a musical in 2008, a time that seemed as distant back in the 1970s as would a flight to Venus be today.
I hope, and I believe too, that the musical on the stage of the Pozorište na Terazijama Theatre will be just as successful as the original play in the Atelje Theatre was in its time, or as the film that is today viewed by generations that were not even born when I was writing this blackly humorous (self-)confession" – Dušan Kovačević, Belgrade, 5th May 2008.

"Magic of the Strings" concert Stefan Milenković and Vlatko Stefanovski
Category: music
Open Air Theatre Opatija , 21:00 h
The musical dream duo, Macedonian guitarist Vlatko Stefanovski and Serbian violinist Stefan Milenković, have joined forces and virtuosity for a musical spectacular entitled "Magic of the Strings". In 2010, the duo gave two consecutive concerts in Belgrade's Sava Centre. Their first appearance in Croatia will be at Opatija's Open Air Theatre on the 3rd of August 2011. Their repertoire includes some of the most famous classical pieces, but also rock and traditional music. It is hard to tell which is more powerful, the technique or the emotion with which they fill every melody, but these are the two qualities that make for exceptional musicians.
