Ove godine na Liburnia Jazz Festival dolazi istinska živuća legenda funka – Fred Wesley.
Trombonist, aranžer i skladatelj Fred Wesley je najpoznatiji po svom radu s Jamesom Brownom i J.B.-ima, Georgeom Clintonom i Parliament Funkadelic, Bootsy’s Rubber Bandom, Horny Hornsima i drugim P-Funk ograncima. Poznat je i po suradnjama s jazz legendama kao što su: Art Blakey & Jazz Messengers, Maceo Parker, Marcus Miller, Ray Charles i George Benson.
Među klasičnim i nezaboravnim pjesmama koje je Wesley utisnuo svojim neizbrisivim, jedinstvenim zvukom su najveći hitovi Jamesa Browna i kultni albumi Parlamenta Mothership Connection, The Clones of Dr. Funkenstein, Funkentelechy Vs. the Placebo Syndrome i The Motor Booty Affair.
S opusom od preko 150 albuma, All About Jazz ga je proglasio jednim od glavnih arhitekata i skladatelja funka na planeti Zemlji.

This year, the Liburnia Jazz Festival is bringing a true living legend of funk – Fred Wesley. Trombonist, arranger and composer Fred Wesley is best known for his work with James Brown and the J.B.s, George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic, Bootsy’s Rubber Band, the Horny Horns and other P-Funk offshoots. He is also known for his collaborations with jazz legends such as: Art Blakey & the Jazz Messengers, Maceo Parker, Marcus Miller, Ray Charles and George Benson.
Among the classic and unforgettable songs that Wesley has imprinted with his indelible, unique sound are James Brown’s greatest hits and Parliament’s iconic albums Mothership Connection, The Clones of Dr. Funkenstein, Funkentelechy Vs. the Placebo Syndrome and The Motor Booty Affair.
With an oeuvre of over 150 albums, All About Jazz has declared him one of the main architects and composers of funk on planet Earth.
